What “currency” means
Wiktionary · Wikipediacurrency/ˈkʌɹ.ən.si/
- nounMoney or other items used to facilitate transactions.
A currency is a standardized form of money used as a medium of exchange. Under this definition, the US dollar, the euro, the yen, sterling, and the renminbi are examples of (government-issued) fiat currencies. Currencies may act as stores of value and be traded between nations in foreign exchange markets, which determine the relative values of the different currencies.
