I've improved spatial search and event management in my agentic web platform. Discover the features I shipped and the challenges I faced in this 11-hour day.
What shipped
- Enhanced Spatial Search — Bare-word queries now resolve to portal details.
- User Statistics Update — Combined local users with distinct Web3 domain wallets.
- Rotating Testimonial Ticker — New dynamic element on the homepage for social proof.
- Event Management Integration — Live events folded into relevant categories.
- Map Layout Fixes — Resolved URL flip issue and improved visuals.
Today, I added new event management functions and improved spatial search on my agentic web platform. After an 11 hour day, I am happy to say that I shipped 12 new functions and/or improvements as well as 3 important bug fixes that will improve user experience and the platform as a whole.
An example of the many features I added is the improved spatial search functionality. Users can now make bare-word queries like 'space' and the system will resolve to the #space portal details instead of just showing the map view. This will improve portal discovery and user engagement. Also, I added a silent retry for the first TypeError during search, which user experience and error management even more. I also added an improved toast message that guides users when they go offline.
I've also made important changes to user metrics. The 'humans aboard' metric now includes local users as well as unique Web3 #domain owner wallets for a clearer picture of user engagement. This helps me to understand my audience better in order to adapt features accordingly. I also expanded the domains-sold metric to include all hashtag.org #names which clarifies the breakdown and growth.
I made many changes to the homepage. One of them is the addition of a testimonial ticker I made that slides every 10 seconds and shows 10 different slugs. This feature adds innovative design elements and acts as a social proof engine to showcase the value of our platform. I also merged the dashboard and my portals tab, simplified the profile dropdown, and edited the hero stats to create a more visually appealing environment. These updates will help users better utilize the platform and allow them to find the most important information quickly.
The improvements made to the map and layout do not go unnoticed. I corrected the URL flip confusion that occurred when users clicked on the markers. I also fixed the black globe issue on the moon view so that the aesthetics of the map match user expectations. Lastly I set the sticky user-pick lock to eliminate bounce, so a smoother experience is guaranteed when switching between domains or keywords.
Not everything went right for me today, however. I had to overcome challenges when working on the ticker updates. The font size was too large at first and it made it difficult to read against the background. After many changes, I decided on a smaller font size with a lower opacity to make it feel more subtle. Today's challenges in balancing form and function proved to be no different than any other day's.
I have made changes to the event management features. I have decided to retire the ‘Events’ top-level card and have merged live events with the Business, Creators, Outdoor, and Blockchain by lumaTopic categories. This change will make event presentations more structured and better meet user needs. These changes remind me how important flexibility and change are when developing a platform.
Looking back at this day, I can see how all these updates are aligned with my vision of building a one-man-show company worth a billion dollars. Even if I am building this platform alone, I have AI as my team, which allows rapid iterations. I am positive that with my goals and focus on user experience and my continuous improvement of services, I will achieve these goals. Each commit, each feature, and even the bugs I encounter are stepping stones toward that vision, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward.
